FROM CHILDHOOD JOSEPHINE WALL HAS HAD A PASSION FOR LIGHT AND COLOR, FANTASY AND VISUAL STORY TELLING.
Josephine Wall (born May 1947 in Farnham, Surrey) is a popular English fantasy artist and sculptor. She works mostly with acrylic paint, which allows her to paint quickly, and to create many textured and colorful effects.
The life of a painter was clearly her destiny! Enchanting and detailed images flow freely from her imagination in an endless cascade of ideas.
Her paintings are mainly influenced and inspired by Arthur Rackham, with lesser influences from surrealist artists such as Magritte and Dalí, and the romanticism of the pre-Raphaelites. This combined with her own imaginative ideas has led to a wide and varied range of work.
Dreaming in Colour-Some people say that they only dream in black and white, but in this dreamy surrealistic world where dreams are stranger than reality – anything can happen..!! Giant candles larger than buildings, light the way and fish swim like birds in the air. Skaters twirl to the cello music on the ice created by her hair. A green waterfall transforms into a beautiful garden, whilst a fantasy bird delivers a key which can open many doors – perhaps the door of endless possibilities..!
