The Art of Quintessence by Julie Chua

THE ART OF QUINTESSENCE IS AN ONGOING PERSONAL PROJECT BY JULIE CHUA

(practice paintings) featuring coin-sized (24mm) miniature watercolour paintings of random and mundane things that correlate with self-experienced truths and shared universal wisdom of a refined essence.

I have started making the project as a means to develop my watercolour painting skills and later became a goal to enhance personal growth and to share my simple piece of art and learned wisdom to others, who might be in need of an uplifting motive or a sense of relief and/or relaxation.

For this series, I use Winsor and Newton Artist and Finetec Artist Mica Watercolours on a 300 gsm black paper and the Silver Ultra Mini and Black Velvet Round brushes to attain my miniature paintings.
