Anatomical Sculptures by Claude-Olivier Guay:
Transformation is the most important part of this intriguing sculptures. You see a head that can unfold and then shows a complex structure of wire. By unfolding creates a very different form. It seems as if the artist wants this to show that we humans have hidden forces on the inside, but in a special way and under special circumstances emerge.
Born in 1988 at La Sarre in Quebec and raised in the region of Charlevoix, Claude-Olivier Guay studied visual arts at the UQAM and received his bachelor’s degree in 2013. His work is centered on the human body, the notion of vestiges and transformation. He is currently installed and working in Québec City.
