Philadelphia-based Graphic Artist, Jeff Manning, creates work that is informed by music,
in particularly, the neo-soul genre. Music is what really sets the tone for him to get going creatively. He will usually listen to a specific song and then create artwork that is fueled by the vibe that he picks up from the song.
Jeff Manning’s main subject through his work is bridging the gap between Graphic Design and Afrocentricity. His work is informed by the need to represent minorities in Graphic Design, as well as to share inspiration and self-empowerment with his audience.
In late 2010 – early 2011, he ended up purchasing the Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign), and started practicing and studying the different elements of design on his own during a lot of his free time.
