Rajendra Pradhan was always fascinated by sculpture although he did not study it formally.
Civil engineer by education, he started sculpting in earnest the year 2003. His first work was the portrait of his father. Then he started giving shape to his own ideas.

“sculptures from my Mother Rocks series. The idea came to me when I wondered why all sculptures have to be stationary! I tried to introduce an element of movement in the series. The mother actually rocks back and forth cradling her babies. I had to carefully adjust the center of gravity so that the sculptures don’t fall over when rocked”.
