Artist Meamar transforming any interior into a magical environment.
What kind of art do you do?
I had the privilege to study classical, modern, and surrealistic styles in Italy, with some of the greatest artists of this century. As a result, my stylistic expertise ranges from classical to abstract. From Italy to California, my frescoes bring life to blank walls with scenes from the Renaissance period or Greek mythology.
How long have you been an artist?
I showed promise as a gifted artist very early on and my parents encouraged me to receive training.
What is your training?
While at the Accademia d’Arte e Design Leonetto Cappiello in Florence, I studied under the tutelage of the Master of the Frescoes. After that, I spent two years designing and creating murals in the Veneto region (the area surrounding Venice, Italy). In 1979, I was selected as one of the top students in my class to meet Salvador Dali in Barcelona, Spain.
In 1980, I spent one year studying contemporary art in Paris. The next 10 years of my career were devoted to the exploration of surrealist art under the influence of Dali, whose encounter the year before produced a profound impact on me. During that time, I gained visibility as an artist throughout Europe by showing my works in Paris (France) and Zurich (Switzerland), as well as in Rome, Florence, Venice, and Milan (Italy).
How much time do you devote to your craft?
As an artist, I create artwork; but I also offer interior architecture & interior design services. In this way, I provide a full-service art & design firm.
What is your favorite part?
I go to great lengths to reveal the appropriate feeling for a piece, transforming any interior into a magical environment. The results are breathtaking.
I am most moved by patrons who express awe and praise for my work, when they do not realize I am the creator.
Where can readers view your work?
My paintings can be viewed in several galleries in the Bay Area as well as on my personal website:
